Derek will be putting his general knowledge to the test when he takes to the podium in one of the country’s most popular quiz shows this weekend. He will line up alongside a host of other sports legends in a special edition of Pointless Celebrities, the general knowledge quiz in which four teams try to come up with the answers that nobody else could think of.
Broadcast on BBC One and presented by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, Pointless has been around since 2009 and has proven one of the most popular game shows in recent years, with 14 general series and eight celebrity series to date.
Derek will line up alongside Tessa Sanderson, the first British woman ever to win Olympic gold in the javelin, thanks to victory at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Other contestants include snooker veteran Willie Thorne, golfing legend Tony Jacklin, darts duo Andy Fordham and Deta Hedman, and rugby pair Nick Easter and Martin Offiah.
