Derek joins football Presenter Jeff Stelling on prostate cancer charity walk

On 28th March Derek and his wife Maria dusted off their walking shoes and waterproofs to join Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling on his quest to complete 10 marathons in 10 days in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The Soccer Saturday presenter is walking 262 miles and checking in at a number of iconic football stadiums, beginning at his beloved Hartlepool United’s Victoria Road stadium and finishing at the legendary Wembley Stadium.

Derek and Maria linked up with Jeff on Day 8 of the walk, which visited the home grounds of League Two side Northampton Town and Championship outfit MK Dons.

Setting out in the howls of Storm Katie, the weather soon subsided and the walkers enjoyed sunny country lanes and welcoming hostelries on their route across Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.

Derek and Maria kept followers updated with their progress, and despite admitting to feeling pain they nevertheless arrived at Stadium MK and celebrated the achievement.
